ASHUNTI'S Diamonds-n-the Rough Mentoring Program
In the summer, Ashunti has a free program called Ashunti Diamonds-n-the Rough for children age 4-24 years old. This program is for at-risk youth who have lost their way and are looking for a new direction to begin building a solid foundation.
Our primary goal is to show them that there is more to life than just on the neighborhood streets.
Our older children 16-24 years of age in the community begin learning responsibility by becoming peer counselors. They work side by side with the younger children & are overseen by an adult counselor.
This program also offers help to children ages 16-21 who are in need of community service hours for school or probation.
We work hand-in-hand with the Cook County Juvenile Probation Office to offer community service positions to avoid or prevent incarceration of our troubled youths.
Diamond-N-The Rough Mentoring & Summer Camp Program May your kids enjoy a summer filled with, community projects, swimming, arts & crafts, baseball, basketball & volleyball, communication skills, reading & creative writing behavior modification/communication skills individual and special groups depending on the child's special needs. FREE Summer, FREE Field trips, FREE lunches & snacks in a structured environment with adult counselors & peer counselors on site.
